Self-Ordering Kiosks for Cafes, Bakeries & Restaurants
Shorter queues. Orders that are right the first time.
A kiosk your customers can use without help: big photos, clear choices, and card payment on the EFTPOS terminal beside it. Every order goes straight to your kitchen display, docket printer or POS.
Software only: use our kiosk hardware or your own.

Why Add a Kiosk
Shorter Queues
Customers order while the line moves. Several people can order at once when you have more than one kiosk.
Accurate Orders
Customers pick their own sizes, milks and extras, so nothing gets lost between the counter and the kitchen.
Time to Browse
With photos of everything and no one waiting behind them, customers see more of your menu than a board above the counter shows.
Staff Where You Need Them
Less time taking orders means more time on the coffee machine, the oven and the customers in front of them.
From Start Screen to Order Number
What your customers see, start to finish.
1Takeaway or dine-in
Your logo and photo on the start screen. One tap to begin.
2Choose and customise
Big photos, then sizes, milks and extras, with each required choice marked as it’s made.
3Check the order
The order slides up to review, change quantities, or keep ordering.
4Pay at the terminal
The amount goes to your EFTPOS terminal. Tap, insert or swipe.
5Order number
A big order number and their name. The kiosk then starts a fresh order by itself.

A Menu Anyone Can Order From
Large buttons, large text and your own food photos. First-time customers find their way around without asking for help.
Photos, Categories & Search
Categories down the side, a photo on every item, and search for customers who know what they want.
Dietary Tags & Allergens
GF, DF, V and VE tags on the menu, and allergens listed on each item, so customers can check before they order.
Options That Can't Be Missed
Sizes, milks and extras show their prices, and each required choice is marked when it's made, so no order reaches the kitchen half-finished.
The Order Stays in View
The running order and total are always on screen, with quantities and items easy to change before paying.
Card Payments on Your EFTPOS Terminal
When the customer taps Pay, the amount appears on the EFTPOS terminal beside the kiosk. The kiosk shows each step, then places the order as soon as the payment is approved.
Works with Linkly-enabled terminals from the major Australian banks. Linkly connects the kiosk to your terminal over the internet, with no cable between them.
Our Tyro integration is built and is going through Tyro's certification. Using Tyro? Contact us and we'll keep you posted.
- Clear on-screen steps for approved, declined and cancelled payments
- Or let customers pay at the counter: their order number screen tells them where to pay
- Refunds from the PIN-protected manager mode, where your terminal supports them

Orders Sent Straight to Your Kitchen
Kiosk orders arrive the same way as your online and staff-entered orders. Choose where they go:
Kitchen Display System
Orders appear on your KDS the moment they're paid, ready to bump through each preparation stage.
Docket Printers
Print a kitchen docket for every kiosk order on a Star CloudPRNT printer.
A Kiosk That Looks After Itself
Nobody has to stand next to it. The kiosk tidies up after each customer and keeps them on your menu.
Resets Itself
If a customer walks away, the kiosk asks “Still there?”, then clears the order and goes back to the start screen. After each order number, it starts fresh for the next customer by itself.
Stays on Your Menu
No links, pop-ups or long-press menus that take customers somewhere else. With Windows kiosk mode, the screen stays on your ordering and nothing else.
Manager Mode
A hidden, PIN-protected mode for your staff: reprint dockets, refund orders where your terminal supports it, and sign the kiosk out.
Your Brand
Your logo, store name and a photo of your food on the start screen, and your logo in the header of every page.
Names, Receipts & Promo Codes
Customers add a name so staff can call them, an optional email for a receipt, and a promo code if you're running one.
Closed & Offline Screens
Switch your store closed and the kiosk shows a closed screen instead of the menu. If the internet drops, it says so, then picks up again when the connection is back.
Portrait or Landscape
Most kiosks stand upright, but the kiosk sizes itself to any screen. On a wide screen, the order sits beside the menu.

Runs in a Web Browser Today
Nothing to install on the kiosk. Android and Windows apps are on the way.
Web Browser
On a Windows touch PC, Microsoft Edge's kiosk mode runs it full screen and locked to your menu.
Android App
A native app for Android kiosks and tablets.
Windows App
A desktop app for Windows kiosks.
Need the Hardware Too?
The kiosk is software only. Buy a complete kiosk from us, or use hardware you already have.

Countertop Kiosk
A 15.6" Windows touch screen PC with stand and EFTPOS cradle. Suits cafes and smaller counters.

Freestanding Kiosk
A floor-standing kiosk with the same touch screen and EFTPOS cradle, for busy venues and food courts.
Your Own Hardware
Already have a touch screen, or buying one from your POS provider? The kiosk runs in its browser. Tell us what you have and we'll confirm it's suitable.
Self-Ordering Kiosk FAQ
Hardware, payments and what happens to the orders.
A self-ordering kiosk, also called a self-service kiosk or SOK, is a touch screen where customers browse your menu and place their own order, then pay at the kiosk or at the counter. It's the same idea as the kiosks in fast-food chains, made for cafes, bakeries and restaurants.
The kiosk is software only, so hardware isn't included. You need a touch screen that runs a modern web browser, plus an EFTPOS terminal if customers pay at the kiosk. Today the kiosk runs on Windows touch PCs, full screen in Microsoft Edge's kiosk mode. You can buy a countertop or freestanding kiosk from us, or use hardware you already have. Android and Windows apps are coming soon.
Yes. Because the kiosk runs in a web browser, it can run on hardware you already own or buy from your POS provider. Tell us what you have and we'll confirm it's suitable.
Linkly-enabled terminals from the major Australian banks. Linkly connects the kiosk to your terminal over the internet, so there's no cable between them. Our Tyro integration is built and is awaiting certification by Tyro; contact us if you use Tyro.
Yes. Customers can order at the kiosk and pay at the counter. Their order number screen tells them to pay at the counter.
One kiosk software licence per store is included on any paid plan (Growth and Pro). On Pro the kiosk carries your own brand, like your apps; on Growth it is mypreorder branded. Additional kiosk licences can be purchased. Kiosk hardware is sold separately, or you can use your own.
You need a paid plan, but you don't have to take online orders. Run the kiosk on its own, or alongside mypreorder online ordering and branded apps using the same menu.
Wherever your other orders go: your mypreorder Kitchen Display System, a Star CloudPRNT docket printer, and your POS if we integrate with it (for example Uniwell or Square).
No. We can import your menu from your POS where our integration supports it, such as Uniwell or Square, or set it up from your current menu.
The kiosk asks "Still there?" and, if nobody answers, clears the order and returns to the start screen for the next customer. It also starts a fresh order by itself a few seconds after each order number is shown.
Yes. Manager mode, protected by a 6-digit manager PIN that you set in your merchant portal, lets staff reprint dockets, process refunds where your EFTPOS terminal supports them, and sign the kiosk out.
Staff can use the mypreorder point of sale (POS) on a tablet or phone. It uses the same menu as the kiosk, and orders go to the same kitchen display, printers and connected POS.
